Alex Bury was trained as a classical chef at the world-renowned Culinary Institute of America and has been asking for money ever since. Whether raising money to start a restaurant or to help homeless dogs in Alaska (she once spent a week in a dog house, in January in Alaska, to raise $10,000 for local dogs), philanthropy has been her focus for over 20 years. She likes to give money, ask for money, and whenever possible, brainstorm better fundraising practices with the top donors in the animal welfare movement. Alex’s specialty is major gifts and individual giving.
