Deputy Director, Policy & Programs
Prior to joining The HSUS, Jennifer Fearing worked for nearly a decade in economic consulting before starting a Sacramento-based community spay/neuter organization and running United Animal Nations (now Red Rover). During her time at The HSUS, she co-authored a book on creating dog-friendly workplaces, coordinated research on spay/neuter in the Gulf Coast, led California's successful Prop 2 campaign, and helped guide the enactment of dozens of California animal protection laws, including a ban on cow tail-docking, a ban on the shark fin trade, a requirement for the use of lead-free ammunition when taking wildlife and a prohibition of the use of hounds to pursue bears and bobcats.
